recent work

After moving permanently to the Luberon region of France in 2017, I was extremely fortunate to find wonderful new clients in the area. See below for samples of my latest work.

GRAPHIC DESIGN

Anne Virlange, Artiste - Website

Anne Virlange is a talented artist who lives and works in L’isle sur la Sorgue, a picturesque town in the Luberon. She found me through another client and we immediately bonded over our love of nature, painting and expressing joy in our work. I had admired her work for many years so I felt honored to be picked as her designer. I completed her website in March, 2020.

Narrative Interiors - Website

Narrative Interiors is a residential interior design studio based in Oakland, California founded by Lilia Fulton. After Lilia’s stint in the life science industry, she opened her studio to focus on her true passion, interior design. She had started to design her website herself but grew frustration with the process. Lilia was a wonderful client and I loved creating a site that reflect her modern sensiblities.

Giuseppina Mabilia - Branding + Website

I met Giuseppina at a Network Provence meeting where she presented herself with a beautiful Italian accent. She offers cooking classes and retreats in Provence and in the Veneto. Full of energy and exuberance, she inspires all of us to celebrate life’s abundance with delicious food.

La Bartevelle Restaurant - Branding + Website

One of my all time favorite commissions! The owners & chef of Goult’s most respected restaurant asked if I would design their website and would I consider doing all the images with watercolors instead of photos. It was a challenge, but I was up for it! I spent many days watching the cooking process, taking photos, notes, drawing and finally, countless more days producing the watercolors. Finally, after I finished my last painting, I produced a unique and cohesive design which included branding, menus, wine lists and the website with original watercolors. It was a truly rewarding process as an artist and designer.

Alastair McNaughton, Photographer - Website

The Luberon is a surprisingly international community and I meet people regularly from all over the globe. Mac is one of those inspiring people I had the pleasure of meeting in 2018. Australia, India, Cuba, Peru, Vietnam are just a few places that Mac has traveled to pursue his passion. An artful and sensitive photographer, he is able to capture moments of pure authentic beauty whether it is a portrait or a moment in time. I designed his website so that his artistry would speak for itself.

Network Provence - Logo + Business Cards

Rebecca Ronane, the founder of Network Provence is a true mover and shaker. She hosts meetings about once a month where women from all the over region can get together and promote their business or just chat over a glass of wine. Rebeccca invites her members to share their expertise with a short presentation. I was excited to work on her logo as I wanted to capture the inclusive nature of her group as well as the warmth we experience when we get together with Rebecca.

Le Domaine Saint Jean - Marketing Materials

I met Thea, one of the delightful owners of Le Domaine Saint Jean at a Network Provence meeting. Thea and her husband, Eric own a beautiful bed and breakfast in the heart of Provence. An absolutely gorgeous venue that is a mix of old world charm and contemporary comfort, it called for a mix of updated photos with a slightly vintage logo, for a look that showcased Thea and Eric’s unique vision.

Raina Stinson Photography - Marketing Materials

Raina and I met in February 2018 and she continues to inspire me with her “mid-life awakening” story. She felt unfilled with her life in Oregon and decided to move to the Luberon to pursue her passion as a professional photographer. Raina does not do things half way. She fully embraces life! Raina specializes in commissioned portraits that bring out the best in her clients whether it is a family, a couple or an individual. She understands how to make each portrait sing so that her clients can have beautiful and artful memories that last a lifetime.

ART COMMISSIONS

AlexandreInFrame.jpg

Alexandre

This commissioned portrait was completed in December 2018 for clients who reside in France + Switzerland. I wanted to capture the contemplative and sweet nature of their grandchild.

Prince

In addition to their adorable grandchild, Alexandre, my clients requested a portrait of their favorite fuzzy companion. Also completed in December 2018.

Siblings - Set 1 - Brother & Sister

Completed in November 2018. My client who resides in Goult requested a pair of watercolor portraits of her grandchildren as Christmas gifts for her two children. I had the pleasure of meeting the four children over the summer where they playfully posed for photos. These two siblings have a warm relationship which was evident in our meeting.

Siblings - Set 2 - Brothers

The second set of grandchildren for my client in Goult also completed in November 2018. Cousins to the first set, these brothers were obviously very close and adored each other. My challenge was to create equally compelling paintings that captured the personality of each grandchild.

L’Olivier

This was painted for a lovely couple from Southern California. My clients saw the website I designed for La Bartavelle Restaurant Goult and contacted me. They were traveling in the region and made a special stop to visit my atelier and buy artwork. We enjoyed a warm evening in early autumn with aperos and an art show at chez nous. It was one of my highlight memories of 2018.
